Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). At the age five she relocated from London to Oxfordshire where she attended The Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actress. She trained for several years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford in which she learned acting as well as singing. When she was 10, she had already taken part in numerous Stagecoach plays and productions. The casting process began in 1999 in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been chosen for these characters. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut film appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The film broke all records in terms of its opening and weekend ticket revenues, and was the most-recorded 2001 movie. The critics were impressed by the movie and its performances. The highly distributed British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Emma later won five awards to honor her role in the film.
