Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress who is best recognized for her performances as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television show Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. She was born in Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of high school after her parents split up to move into Los Angeles to live with her mother. In 2001, despite her financial struggles, she was able get her first significant role in the online video show Rachel's Room playing the main character. The role she played as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the TV film Murder in Greenwich in 2002 earned her an award nomination for the Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played the lead actress in Lost in its two initial seasons. In 2004 she received the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace has worked with Tom Welling on The Fog in 2005, was looking to go to film. She also appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and also, as Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills for Taken. She reprised her role as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost in the series, which included the conclusion. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith as a groupie, and also her muse to the stars that catches the interest of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. Her next roles were in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind which was released in 2002 as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal's lead roles in Secretary, the romantic comedy-drama erotico and Sherrybaby (a dramatic) received her nominations for Golden Globe Awards. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008 after several highly successful films including World Trade Center (2006), brought Gyllenhaal greater fame. In 2009, she was nominated as the best supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of a single mom in Crazy Heart. Gyllenhaal began her career as a screenwriter and director in 2021, when she directed and wrote her psychological horror film The Lost Daughter.
